During 2006-2007, UCLA Arts’ ArtsBridge cultivated seven community partnerships with public schools and their local neighborhood arts and cultural organizations. Arts Workshops and Residencies
UCLA Arts’ ArtsBridge develops original arts education projects tied to community partnerships with secondary schools and their local neighborhood arts and cultural organizations. The project workshops and residencies are linked to broad based creative educational services including: field trips, shadowing days, planning and evaluation opportunities, professional development, performance and exhibition of student work, and community learning research on arts education.
Community Learning Research Symposium
UCLA Arts’ ArtsBridge collaborated with the School of Education and Information Sciences, and the School of Public Affairs to sponsor a path-breaking symposium REFLECTION ON ACTION: UCLA’S ENGAGMENT WITH URBAN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES.
Tirza Kaplan ArtsBridge Archive
A generous gift of art books from Mr. Ellis Kaplan inaugurated a new arts educational resource for ArtsBridge scholars, classroom teachers and youth. The TIRZA KAPLAN ARTSBRIDGE ARCHIVE memorializes the legacy of Mr. Kaplan’s daughter by enriching arts education curriculum for years to come.
